Vulnerability to Climate Change

back

•As temperatures gradually rise, forest ecosystems become dryer and the risk for fire greatens exponentially

–As fires become more frequent, carbon emissions become more concentrated furthering temperature rise.

•As yearly total rainfall decreases, the complex ecosystems of the Amazon will be threatened along with the heavily agricultural-dependent rural populations

–Brazil is much more efficient at producing hydro-electric power than most developing countries, this will also be effected as rainfall continues to decrease

•Coral reefs that are unique to the Brazilian coast will also suffer from rising water temperatures.
